The YMCA has served Houston and its surrounding communities for over 125 years. It is exciting to have your interest and commitment of time, energy, and special talents to serve the YMCA of Greater Houston. Through the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and our staff we are able to provide our many programs and services to our community.

Having you serve as a volunteer at the Greater Houston YMCA allows our youth to have the opportunity to learn how to play sports while having fun and being part of a team. As you implement the YMCA of Greater Houston’s Five Core Values of respect, responsibility, honesty, caring and faith into your weekly coaching plan you are not only teaching, but you are following our mission-by putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice by building strong families through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. You can build healthier, more confident, connected and secure individuals and families by building a small community, your team.

You have joined a team of over 18,000 volunteers annually throughout our association. The early YMCA programs were run almost entirely by volunteers. Remember the YMCA would not be what it is today without its volunteers. The YMCA of Greater Houston sports programs serve over 60,000 children each year.
